Belinda lived in El Salvador with weekly incidents such as bombs, assassinations, kidnappings and armed assaults. Her strength was in her family, her faith and in a simple practice of listening quietly in front of an open journal.

Belinda is the family story teller. She takes after her Mom. Her book is about Resilient Narratives — these are the things she told herself that helped her get through the most difficult time in her life. She developed a narrative about hardship, God, self, family and faith. Her parents were missionaries to Guatemala in 1976 and El Salvador 1977- 1979. She weaves together family stories with personal conversations with God.
